adopt-a-cop programEach of these questions, and answers, has been driven from real experience over decades in law enforcement. By speaking openly and frankly within the community we can improve our quality of life and the future for our children.
Adopt-A-COP Solutions is a company that privatizes many services traditionally performed only by police agencies or municipalities. Our programs utilize sound law enforcement programs and the latest security technologies to maximize results.
We provide these services more in-depth to encompass all the peripheral issues that affect crime, economic development, and quality of life for residents, business owners, and visitors.
No, all of our programs and security technologies are funded by funds we solicit and receive from private donors, state, and federal grants, and foundations. No taxpayer funds are used unless a taxpayer wants to make a tax-deductible donation.
Our company is not a non-profit. However, we utilize a local non-profit organization that acts as our fiduciary to accept funds for all our programs and technologies. This allows all donations to be tax-deductible.
We complement the great efforts being done by your local police agencies by providing the latest security cameras and technologies, along with proven and effective programs to proactively address crime, economic development, blight and quality of life issues. Our company handles the peripheral issues so the police can do what they do best: arrest and prosecute criminals.
We employee highly trained current and retired police officers and security professionals. We also utilize highly trained paid and volunteer citizens.
Absolutely not, nothing can replace the services a police officer provides. Our goal is to complement police officers’ efforts by giving them all of the security technologies, training, and assistance needed to be as effective as possible for their communities.
The official name is: (example) “Your City Name Adopt-A-COP Program.”
Absolutely, we’ll have 100% accountability. All funds will go through a local 501C3 non-profit. This makes the donations tax- deductible. This also ensures all funds are accounted for and are being spent for their intended purpose.
Our crime analyst monitors crime issues throughout the area of implementation and interacts with the police agencies on a daily basis to address their needs and concerns. They also deploy Adopt-A- COP assets to various areas as crime shifts.
No, the CCTV/technology piece is approximately 30% of what our company does. The majority of what our company is comprised of is organized programs. We use technologies sparingly to complement our crime-fighting efforts. Nobody, including us, wants the government unnecessarily intruding in our business or private lives. The CCTV cameras and other technologies we deploy function as a force multiplier to the police to deter crime, notify the police when certain acts occur (like a wrong-way driver on the highway) and to provide recorded CCTV footage to prove something occurred or didn’t occur.
No, any crime cameras or security technologies that are deployed are installed to monitor areas normally open to the public. In addition, safeguards are in place to prevent intrusion into protected or private areas.
Citizens can get involved by filling out an application online or by contacting our local Adopt-A-COP Solutions’ office. There are several different areas citizens and businesses can help.
All cameras are recording 24/7/365, but not all are monitored continuously. Certain cameras are monitored live at all times, while others are monitored as needed. Our sophisticated software automatically notifies us when certain events occur so our staff will know immediately. An example would be a wrong-way driver getting on the expressway from an off-ramp.
The cost of the crime cameras varies depending on the specific camera and the size of the housing that is specially wrapped with the police department’s logo and the business donor’s logo. The costs cover the equipment, installation, and permits. The proceeds from the crime cameras help to fund all the crime and blight programs and other program associated costs.
Once the Adopt-A-COP Program is up and running the only cost to any municipality is to pay for the electricity to power the crime cameras. That cost averages $50.00 per camera per year and can normally be added to the municipalities’ street light bill.
Crime cameras are deployed based on crime statistics and after a strategic analysis. You can request a crime camera for your neighborhood or area and our analyst will review your request. If you’d like to ensure a crime camera is deployed to your neighborhood, you can help raise the funds for the crime camera and one will be deployed.
If you agree our program will help reduce crime, increase residential and commercial development, and increase the quality of life throughout your area, please let your state and local politicians, local governmental leaders, and Chamber of Commerce officials know that you support this program and want to see it implemented in your municipality.
A Board of Directors comprised of local business owners, police officials, prosecutors, and key community stakeholders will oversee our local Adopt-A-COP programs.
Upon implementation we’ll be utilizing a local college professor that specializes in crime statistics/causation to conduct a pre and post crime and economic survey to measure the results of the local Adopt-A-COP Program.
Our patent pending covers our unique work method to privatize certain traditional law-enforcement services, as well as collaborating with citizens and business owners in the area of fund raising. In addition, it covers our holistic manner in delivering results by addressing virtually all areas that effect crime, economic development, and quality of life issues.
Yes, each area our program is in will have their own Geocentric website. From our Adopt-A-COP web site citizens and business owners will be able to file certain police reports and blight reports online This keeps our police officers on the streets fighting crime and answering emergency calls for service. Citizens and businesses can also make donations on the website, send anonymous crime tips, fill out an application to be a volunteer, and learn about all the remarkable things happening in their area that they can be part of.
We implement and manage programs specifically designed to increase the quality of life and at the same time reduce crime for citizens, visitors, and employees in the municipality our programs are operating in. We firmly believe that “everything affects crime and crime affects everything”. Our program experts’ goals are to break the cycle-of-crime and poverty affecting a large portion of society. We do that by addressing the root causes of crime and the peripheral issues causing localized poverty by focusing on quality of life issues.
